September 10th – 16th was National Assisted Living Week, an opportunity to celebrate residents and staff members. There were lots of special events planned, and one of the highlights was welcoming Assistant Fire Chief Casey Pickel and Police Chief Doug McKinley to commemorate 9/11 and thank them for their service. Folks also shared items near and dear to them during a “Show & Tell Tea Party” and the ice cream truck from Vesperman Farms in Lancaster brought treats for everyone to enjoy during an outdoor concert by Shekinah King. Apartment tenants took the bus to Sunset Lanes in Dickeyville for a delicious lunch and an opportunity to see some old friends. What a delightful afternoon! Toward the end of the month, there was an All Seasons Happy Hour for assisted living folks and a trip to Czipar's Apple Orchard in Dubuque. To view photos, please click on the web album link below.
